![]() Posted by Janet Salazar, CEO and Founder As we celebrate Women’s History Month, and as we give thanks and give ourselves a pat on the back on how much we have accomplished in advancing women’s rights, I must share this with you: “We are at a tipping point of global leadership transformation — and women are ready and equipped for the much-needed rebalance.” There has never been a point in history where we are presented with the biggest opportunity for women to rise up to a challenge — the challenge of an alarming, growing shortage of qualified leaders globally. With baby boomers and a rapidly-changing, fast-moving environment, there is an urgent, critical need for a new breed of leaders – and the time is now for women to rise up to this challenge. Collaboration and acceleration are key. There is a growing conscious effort from the business world to do the right thing: invest in women. The question is, how do we engage these progressive companies effectively? More importantly, what innovative solutions can we commit to doing collaboratively, both private and public, men and women, in order to accelerate women’s critical role in global leadership? Some of these innovative solutions were discussed, and more importantly identified as Commitments to Action at the ground-breaking launch of POWER OF COLLABORATION at the United Nations on February 26, 2014. For those of you who were not able to join us, I encourage you to view the webcast by UN Web TV here for Part 1 and here for Part 2, For more blogs from the author, visit www.janetcsalazar.com
