TESTIMONIALS

The EGL Program was an eye-opener to me. It provided me with various opportunities to gain the appropriate leadership tools and learn how to use them efficiently to pave my way toward successful global leadership. The leaders I met during the Program helped me cultivate Hope, Passion, and Impact –some key ingredients that I can use to build my power plan as an emerging global leader. I can only urge you to apply to the EGL Program and find a unique way to shape your global leader mindset. I hope you will also become as passionate as I am about shaping your leadership skills with impact and make a difference in people’s lives as well as your own life!

EGL program taught me a lot. It was my great luck to meet Janet and her friends in the first winter after I came to New York for my law school study at Fordham Law school. The ladies are super energetic and love to dream. They inspired me a lot. Together we learned how to be a global leader at the International Affairs Department  of Columbia University. We came from diverse backgrounds but we stayed together for one goal, to discover a better self, to find the meaning of living and to impact people around us. We met  ambassadors from the United Nations. We conversed with men from Wall Street. We welcomed the lady entrepreneurs from the Europe and we debated in the headquarters of the UN to see what's woman leadership and what we can do for the world. Thanks to EGL, I find lots of possibilities. This is one of my best experiences in New York.

Before coming to IMPACT, I was really unsure of myself. Where mot of my friends had all of these wonderful internships and jobs, I was the only one that stayed home and did nothing. I was at a point where I thought that I was going to get nothing. I even said to myself, "I'm just a failure and I will not achieve anything."

It wasn't until I came to the IMPACT Leadership 21 Summer Cohort. There, I learned that there is a reason that I was called to lead. IMPACT showed me that I do have a purpose in life and that I am not just another black girl because I will achieve in life. I also learned that one should never be afraid to tell their accomplishment: I a happy to say that, with the help of eleven other students, we created a movement called A Different Nova. This movement helps students to be free to express theirselves whether it is race or sexuality.

I want to say thank you so much for the opportunity of joining this program. Not only was able to re-create myself, I was also able to find a strong family bond.

This program had a superb blend of world-class speakers, an integrated agenda, and a strongly interactive and diverse group of mates from high-performing backgrounds. The concepts in this program challenged my traditional views and learning, and stretched all of us immensely to expand our understanding on what leadership needs to be in the 21st century.  It truly developed me as an individual. In order to achieve better results in a business one needs to have self awareness and skills which would help to stand out in today's and tomorrow's business climate.

Every session was highly customized and carefully though through to address THE most important leadership issues that leaders face today. The combination of speakers who are successful in their lives that it's beyond my thought's and believes to even share the same space with them and network with them. This program provided me with management tools, leadership assessments, and team exercises with peers across industries/ geography make this a truly special and unique program. It is a great investment of individual time and corporate sponsorship.

Before EGL, I thought that management was leadership. I now understand my role as a leader and understand how to lead and develop a team and prepare them to be future leaders in the organization. I have learned that it is important to support and appreciate a team and enable them to reach and even exceed their potential.

The seminar series has been a unique opportunity to pull back from my task oriented focus on day-to-day activities and focus on the importance, details, and patterns that often come into play with interpersonal interactions. It has truly navigated my importance on the power of collaboration. I have come to understand that how my communication both verbal and non-verbal really impacts the people around me and how that impacts the success of that interaction. One of the most important lessons learned is that: “Leadership is about CONNECTION”.

The session on passion opened my eyes into other ways, ways in which I plan to help every individual I can to improve their skill sets and be more successful in the pursuit of their own goals. I strongly feel that “It is my CALL that I received”.

The program provided me with a deep knowledge of techniques that will fast track my career. Additionally, having a group with different experiences and internationally represented was fundamental to setting personal goals and to developing me as an individual.  The class also showed me a new dynamic way of looking at material I was already familiar with, shedding a new light on old concepts. I must say, Emerging Global Leaders was truly an experience that punctuated my values and overarching imperatives. There were times that it struck an emotional chord, bringing tears to my eyes. Most importantly it drove home the values of integrity, authenticity, empathy, and transparency.

I better appreciate the need to network externally, remain current and position myself to change and bring in self innovation, while maintaining balanced physical, professional and personal activities. Nearly half of the class were internationals, and their perspectives were so important to the success of the experience. The diversity of the attendees from multiple industries and countries created a truly diverse and learning environment. The program brought me “back to basics” to keep my leadership grounded on my values and beliefs. The program really challenged me to access as where am I as a leader and how to become a stronger leader in the future. The content of the program was very relevant and enabled me to critically review on my own capabilities and develop a plan of action to drive me to make changes that have positively impacted the way I approach my professional career. The most amazing element for me was the transformation I saw on the personal front after I re-prioritized my activities.

The session on Gender Attunement was very interesting as it allowed me to focus on the impact of working together to create a common outcome. This approach is a fertile ground for management training. The two days spent here provided immediately applicable plans, interacts and executes for success. It has provided a common language and approach for communicating and decision making.

The EGL program for me is “A gift!”. It provided me with an insight into why I operate the way I do, to why I haven't always had the courage to do and say what I really want to.

The format of the training provided a great overview of the significant 6 global toolkit for transformational leadership (IMPACT framework) which was complemented by in-depth personal stories and then followed up by discussions that relate the topic. The lessons learned from this experience reconfirmed for me that innovation, multiculturalism, passion, Attunement, collaboration and Tenacity are key,  in order to create an environment to succeed. It's learning, but in a different context from what I was used to. It beats a PowerPoint in a lecture hall, 10 out of 10.

This program exceeded my expectations! It was truly a transformational experience to help me become a leader I want to be. It served as an opportunity to look inside a leadership team and understand how the dynamics of leadership and personalities can change the outcomes.
All in all, it made me aware that modern management is a psychological discipline and an art-form requiring oneself to take the high road regardless of the pressures and stress.

Finally, I would thank my professor Mr. Michael Llorenz who believed in me and thought that I was capable enough for this program. I could have only dreamed of being with such high delegates and professionals and today this is reality- Me sharing this platform. 22nd june 2016 – I mark it as the most important day of my life and would promise to make a change in order to make this world a better place to live in.

THANK YOU !
