Global Citizenship Program
The Future Generation Collaborating Towards SDG2030
|
We must foster global citizenship. Education is about more than literacy and numeracy. It is also about citizenry. Education must fully assume its essential role in helping people to forge more just, peaceful and tolerant societies. To make global citizenship a daily part of life will be challenging. Yet we can be true global citizens by simple acts. It is inside us. If we start there, it will become easier. |
Greetings from our CEO
Welcome!
On behalf of our teams at IMPACT Leadership 21 and the Foundation for the Support of the United Nations, we are excited that you are exploring the Global Citizenship Program with us. This innovative and transformational program, which culminates with a Global Goals (SDGs) Competition held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, aims to create awareness, build commitment and inspire action from the world's next generation of young leaders to advance the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by world leaders in September 2015 at an historic UN Summit. Over the next fifteen years, with these new Goals that universally apply to all, countries will mobilize efforts to end all forms of poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change, while ensuring that no one is left behind. The Global Citizenship Program also aims to train the future young global leaders on the foundations of transformational leadership -- and equip them with must-have tools to navigate today's fast-changing, hyper-connected world. We believe that by harnessing the collective voice, knowledge, creativity and social media prowess of our young global leaders -- we will create a sustainable future. Thank you and welcome to the Global Citizenship Program! Janet C. Salazar "To cherish humanity over nationhood; I am, a citizen of the world". |
