"One Humanity -- regardless of one's skin color, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other man-made label, let us demand greater accountability and relentless action for the most vulnerable and at risk among us -- for the millions of people displaced and ravaged by conflicts all across the world".
Dear Friends and Collaborators,
As we observe today's World Humanitarian Day, we join the global community in honoring the countless humanitarian workers and volunteers toiling on the ground worldwide, bravely risking their own lives to save others.
We salute those in leadership positions who take courageous actions in creating solutions through policies and political will -- and not afraid to shatter the status quo for the sake of the greater good. Our very own, IMPACT Global Advisory Council member Ambassador Anwarul K. Chowdhury*, has been a tenacious example of this. Whether speaking at the UN and around the world on the Culture of Peace, Global Citizenship, or UNSCR 1325 of which he was the architect of, Ambassador Chowdhury has been fighting tirelessly in the corridors of global political arena to alleviate the human condition.
To our millions of brothers and sisters, children who are caught in the middle of many crises, conflicts and catastrophe, whether man-made or natural disaster -- from the horrors of Syria, the plunder of Africa, to the neglected Louisiana flooding -- we honor your tireless spirit and the will to survive. We are fighting with you.
As we look forward to the weekend, whatever our circumstances are -- let us find a few moments to ask ourselves -- what have we done to help someone breathe easier lately?
